My recent alt tuning blog posts have focused on the following C tunings:
- Open C Minor Tuning CGCGCD# – C Blues Scale
- CGCGCE Open C Tuning – Key of C Major
- CGCGAD Tuning – Key of C Major
- CGCGA#F Tuning – Key of C Natural Minor
- CGEGAC Tuning – Key of A Natural Minor
Tonight, we’re going to explore the tuning CFDGBC in C Major.
What you might notice is that three of the notes (D, G and B) are actually the same notes as standard tuning, which means only three strings are tuned differently than standard tuning.
The video below features a short, live version of my song “Cherishing Forever.” The screenshot below the video shows the notes I’m playing in scale notes, numbers, scale degrees and intervals.
May these daily alt tunings continue to inspire you as you explore songwriting beyond the limitations of standard tuning. If you’d like to learn more about making alt tuning a part of your songwriting, give me a call at 888-7-GUITAR or reach out to me here.
Until next time…
