Tonight’s song/idea is titled “Find Your Way” and is in the key of D# Major. One of the lines that you’ll hear me sing the first time through is:

I woke up to the sound of the closing door
And I hope you find your way

Here are the scale notes, numbers and intervals I’m playing:

  1. Michael Friel II

Are you using any special strings to achieve this tuning, or can I try it with my standard out-of-the-package guitar strings?

  2. Hi Michael – I’m using standard “out-of-the-box” strings (Elixir Acoustic Phosphor Bronze with NANOWEB® Coating) medium gauge.

Because I focus on guitar tunings that are 2 whole steps down and 1 whole step up from standard tuning at AltTunings.com, I avoid having to use custom string gauges. While this is a “limitation”, it saves me a ton of time doing a new tuning every day and makes it easier for others who want to try the tunings I feature here.

Thanks for listening and commenting. Share if you come up with something!

    All the best,

    Scott
