Here are the scale notes, numbers and intervals for Open D9 Tuning in the Key of G Major:
Each day this week, I have changed standard tuning by one note which allows me to keep a “standard tuning frame of mind” while experimenting with chord voicings on the strings that are in alt tuning (not standard tuning).
Today’s song is dedicated to my Pap Pap who was a Captain of a riverboat in Pittsburgh. He died when I was 8 years old but he’s part of my life even today.
May these daily alt tunings continue to inspire you as you explore songwriting beyond the limitations of standard tuning. If you’d like to learn more about making alt tuning a part of your songwriting, give me a call at 888-7-GUITAR or reach out to me here.
Until next time…
